R&D project co-financed by the European Union

The project entitled “R&D work on the development of an innovative master controller and cloud-based monitoring system for managing a set of oil-injected screw compressors”.

The project will include the development of a master controller intended for managing a group of screw compressors, along with the creation of an innovative control algorithm for the compressor group. This algorithm will enhance the energy efficiency of compressed air generation in both new and existing compressor stations by intelligently controlling the loading/unloading of machines and, in the case of variable-speed compressors, their rotational speed.

The project aligns with the specific objective EFRR.CP1.I (RSO1.1.) – Developing and strengthening research and innovation capacities and the uptake of advanced technologies, under the FEDS 2021–2027 programme.

The objective of the project is to develop an innovative product and implement the results into business operations.

The activities described in the project are aimed at increasing the innovativeness of the region’s economy in RIS-related areas, which translates into a higher share of companies engaging in R&D activities and an increase in business sector R&D expenditure. The implementation of the project will contribute to achieving the RSO1.1. objectives by financing R&D work carried out by the Beneficiary.

The project aligns with the Smart Specialisation Strategy theme “Green Deal” due to its scope, the planned R&D activities, and the intended result – an innovative product that will offer a technology to reduce and optimise energy consumption in industries using oil-injected compressors.

Target recipients of the product include:

  1. compressor manufacturers,
  2. European manufacturers and distributors of compressor components, as well as compressor service providers,
  3. individual customers – manufacturing companies, industrial plants, service providers, hospitals,
  4. companies involved in energy efficiency upgrades and waste heat recovery systems from industrial equipment,
  5. companies implementing MES production optimisation systems.
